‘Metamorphosis’ (2023)
In 2023, I created the multidisciplinary project ‘Metamorphosis’ which was initially titled ‘Obscured Rebirth’.
The installation consisted of a wax sculpture of my late hamster with a colourful and gently swaying upwards spiral of hanging taxidermy butterflies.

After the death of my beloved hamster Cherry, I chose to investigate the themes of life, death, rebirth, and metamorphosis from an optimistic and reassuring perspective.
My installation portrayed how I’d like to think of Cherry now- as a soul who found peace and true freedom in death. It is also about the power butterflies hold as symbols of hope and emotional healing as, I believe, each unique set of wings represent a soul that has found peace.
The spiral of the hanging butterflies moved gently as people walked through the space and created a sense of aliveness and energy, representing the continuity of change through time.
